Overview

The journaling in this app needs to be flexible, working for the woman who is highly motivated as well as the ones who are too overwhelmed with trying to survive.

Problems

Simple

Journaling needs to be as simple as possible, these women are already dealing with enough in their lives, this doesn’t need to add to that.

Accessibility

With PTSD, screen usage can worsen symptoms.

Flexibility

Needs to allow power users to add as much context as they are willing, and the person who wants to exert minimal effort to input data in a simple way.

Solutions

Simple

Apply focus to three or fewer selected symptoms at a time. Make the tracking of symptoms as intuitive as possible not adding to cognitive load.

Accessibility

I designed a way to get help and feel control without having to open up your phone by adding a ring and a smart watch app.

Flexibility

For power users give space for open-form text journaling. The app can search the text for keywords and patterns in the writing and use them to create informational data over time. Also have a simple way to log a symptom without any additional thought.
