Overview

Most of the women who open this app will probably do so begrudgingly for the first time. The most common discovery will be from a therapists suggestion. They will want help and need help, but it is painful to dig into their symptoms of trauma.

Onboarding is the first impression a person will have of the app, and they should feel comfortable from the start, so I designed an onboarding that helps them overcome their desire to avoid and help them feel more at ease from the start.

Color choice - I wanted this app to be moody and motivating. That is why I made the following color choices based off of color psychology:

  • B

    lack - power and control

  • W

hite - new beginnings and of wiping the slate clean

  • Red - energy and action

  • Green - refreshment, peace, rest, and security

Typography - I selected SF pro display because it is well known for its legibility and accessibility. I stuck with one typeface for simplicity.

Illustration - I chose to illustrate in this style to avoid the typical jubilant characters with a bubbly, light, and fluffy style used in most mental health apps. I wanted this vibe to help them feel understood and empowered.
